Dr. Hanslits was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan where he graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1974. He graduated from a 6 year premedical- medical school program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he met his classmate, wife, and frequent consultant,
Dr. Cynthia Harper (family doctor at Doctor's Clinic). From 1980 to 1985, he did a pathology internship, and a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Cincinnati where he was chief resident, and spent an additional year in Cincinnati an instructor in body imaging and interventional radiology. He joined Longview Radiologists in SW Washington in 1985, and moved to Salem to join SRC in 1991. His subspecialty is interventional radiology and he is also very interested in body imaging, currently multidetector CT and CT angiograhy. He particularly enjoys consulting with referring doctors, and working with patients as an interventional radiologist.
Mike and Cindy have 3 children in elementary, middle and high school- Sam, Katherine, and Peter. Current outside interests include children's sports, band, and school activities, family travel, recumbent bicycles, theater, fishing, rafting, cooking, home fermentation projects.
