Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist primarily performs the technical aspect of diagnostic ultrasound studies. This position receives patients, explains method of procedures, positions patients, selects and sets technical factors, sets up and adjusts accessory equipment required, and set technical parameters necessary for the requested examinations.  Individuals in this position will be certified sonographers by the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (R.DM.S.). Individuals perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures which vary in complexity because of the varied anatomy and the physical and emotional condition of the patient.  Sonographers will interface with sophisticated ultrasound and computer equipment used in image acquisition and processing to produce diagnostic quality studies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Determine test procedure according to the purpose of the examination and review prior imaging exams.
  • Explain procedure to patients and assists patients in the proper positioning for the test.
  • Select transducer and make equipment adjustments according to the nature of test, depth of field, and other test specifications.
  • Enter test data and patient information into the computer to become part of the test record.
  • Conduct actual test procedures. Moves handheld transducer over specified area of the body and while observing on the monitor selectively record images for the patient’s permanent record.
  • Record diagnostic data onto PACS.
  • Check equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of courtesy and professionalism to patients and referring physicians.

  • Independently perform standard examinations. Confer with radiologists to establish requirements for nonstandard examinations.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and initiate procedures to replenish stock and to receive stock supplies.
  • Provide assistance within the ultrasound work unit to facilitate operational efficiency.
  • Assist facility staff in scheduling patients for examinations in a manner to allow for optimal flexibility of scheduling while maintaining high volume throughput. 
  • Is trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic life support techniques.

Education and Experience:

  • Two years’ experience as a sonographer is (preferred).
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by the RDMS and Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) licensure in the state of Oregon (required).
  • RVT (preferred).
Physical Requirements:

The MRI Technologist primarily performs radiographic examinations, receives patients, explains method of procedure, positions patients, selects and sets technical factors, sets up and adjusts accessory equipment required, and makes exposures necessary for the requested examinations. The MRI Technologist performs radiographic procedures which vary in complexity because of the varied anatomy and the physical and emotional condition of the patient. Individuals in this position will be a certified diagnostic radiologic technologists by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.). Individuals perform x-ray procedures which vary in complexity because of the varied anatomy and the physical and emotional condition of the patient.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of digital MRI equipment and confidence with the manipulation of imaging techniques according to a patient body habitus, physical abilities and conditions, and body area being imaged.
  • Demonstrate consistency in positioning anatomy and upholding ethics of minimizing radiation exposure to patient.
  • Collect necessary patient information and thoroughly documents to prepare radiologist for optimal exam interpretation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and produce high quality images while working independently.
  • Assist facility staff in scheduling patients for examinations in a manner to allow for optimal flexibility of scheduling while maintaining high volume throughput.

Job Summary:

The PET/CT technologists will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction. This position effectively interprets physician orders/instructions and select appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with accuracy and treat with confidence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Start IVs and administers contrast according to policy and procedure as prescribed by the physician.
  • Obtain consent (if having Diagnostic C.T.) and screen patients for past history of allergies and contraindications to contrast media prior to administering contrast.
  • Screen patients for previous medical history (surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy) for PET imaging.
  • Document allergies, contraindications, IV contrast administration, etc. in medical record.
  • Dispose radioactive sharps into a lead lined container according to the NRC guidelines.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of side-effects and allergic reactions to contrast media and alerts physician immediately upon occurrence.
  • Perform daily dose calibrator constancy as well as quarterly linearity, geometry, Chi Square, and MDA testing.
  • Maintain records of constancy, linearity, accuracy and geometry testing in NMIS.
  • Perform daily and weekly scanner quality control.
  • Perform and maintain records of the glucometer testing for blood sugar levels for PET imaging.
  • Order patient doses daily.
  • Record and maintain any radioactivity injected into patient for PET imaging.
  • Complete wipes and surveys in specific locations in the PET department.
  • Survey and record incoming radioactivity from Radiopharmacy for patient utilization.
  • Position and scan patient according to whole body imaging protocol.
  • Measure and record patient syringe before and after injection.
  • Verify and transfer images to PACS for interpretation after scan is complete.
  • Perform routine CT procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats.
  • Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination
  • Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure.
  • Adjust scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers and other associates and peers.

  • Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS).

The Associate IT Systems Administrator provides technical support and maintenance for radiology clinical systems and IT infrastructure, including PACS, RIS, voice dictation systems, and diagnostic workstations. This entry-to-mid-level role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows by assisting with hardware/software troubleshooting, system updates, and user support, while working closely with senior IT staff and radiology personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support PACS, RIS, and voice recognition systems, ensuring availability and performance.
  • Respond promptly to IT support tickets from employees, including troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer systems, and address issues related to hardware, software and network connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

Job Summary:

The Patient Intake Specialist is responsible for greeting patients, assisting with questions, obtaining demographic and insurance information from patients, accurately entering information into EPIC, effectively communicate with other departments, and scheduling appointments as necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Verify check-in appointment times. Inform necessary department if the appointment is running late.
  • Review patient appointment notes and ancillary orders to determine if additional scans are needed.
  • Update patient demographics (verify name with ODL), marital status, employer, emergency contact, PCP, etc.
  • Create and/or verify guarantor on visit.
  • Create and/or verify correct insurance coverage on visit. Update payer-filed name if different on card. Enter/verify insurance policy and group number, claim address, and any yield/stop signs that can be corrected.
  • Verify insurance eligibility by checking the associated website.
  • Scan ID’s and insurance cards
  • Collect HIPAA and COA signatures
  • Direct patients in completing questionnaires, ABN, ROI, or other forms that are applicable before their scheduled appointment.
  • Provide patients the correct slips as needed (ex: burn CD, multiple modality, etc.)
  • Collect payments if applicable
  • Ensure service animal protocol is executed.
  • Obtain orders from Dr. Office and process into EPIC if no orders are on current file.

  • Create ancillary order and scan documents into EPIC (send secure chats to schedulers, add flags, and write notes as needed).
  • Review and update patient demographics per order information.
  • Fax orders back to Dr.’s office or call as needed.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and check voice mail regarding patient orders.
  • Manage list of names waiting on orders by fax machine.
  • Obtain wet read calls and get patients connected with the Dr. in the waiting room.
  • Stock/order paper, ink, sticky notes, pens, tissues, etc.
  • Make copies of forms, and questionnaires as needed.
  • Manage lost and found
  • Close cash drawers, lock up cash and reports in the safe.
  • Close/open front doors at the beginning of the day.
  • Review emails/secure clients and communicate with the team to stay up to date on changes/new policies/etc.
